Spetses Island

Spetses, one of the Saronic Gulf islands is a famous destination, since the first decade of the twentieth century. Spetses is closely connected with the Greek revolution in 1821, when Greece started its long fought war to liberate its land from the Ottoman Empire. Moreover, it is well known for its cosmopolitan air and the exceptionally beautiful mansions that belong to the many ship-owning families that origin from the island.
