Ios

Reputed to be the party capital of the Cyclades , Ios at times seems to deserve this title. Though some of the bars on the island do party from dusk to dawn, there are places where the tempo is slower. Ios claims to be the burial pace of Homer and is tomb is on the slopes of Mt. Pirgos . The island has some splendid beaches, where you can sunbathe or take part in the water sport activities.

Ios Town this with backdrop of windmills and the ruins of the fortress, is being overrun with bars and discos, so the night times is noisy and hectic But during the day normal life resumes.

Gialos is quieter the Ios town, with good tavernas and beaches nearby.

Mylopotas is the busiest beach on the island, with cafes, bars and restaurants. Kalamos has a long sandy beach with clear waters ideal for underwater swimming. Koubara beach is long and has many tavernas lining its length. It is also popular with nudists. Psathi beach is quieter than the rest. It is popular among windsurfers because of the high waves on windy days.
